Mathematics is a core subject, which aims to develop
the student's skills through numeracy, measurement, algebra, geometry,
trigonometry, statistics and probability. It is necessary to achieve
a minimum number of eight numeracy credits for the award of NCEA at
Level 1. There are a number of unit standards available in alternative
courses, which better match students' ability levels. At both Year
11 and Year 12 there are three courses with two of these being fully
internally assessed.
