interested athletes are welcome to join this group and no
experience is necessary. Our top athletes compete and train
through the summer as there are many important meets that occur
during that time of the year. Every athlete on the HHS team is
affiliated with a local club in order to compete in meetings
sanctioned by Athletics New Zealand. Term 1 training is in effect from the first day of school as we must
welcome our new Year 9 students and begin preparation for the School
Championships and the Taranaki and North Island Championships in
March. Our top athletes will complete their season at the New
Zealand Championships for Men and Women.
