Hawera High School has almost 300 desktop computers located in five computer rooms throughout the school and an additional six computer hubs in the Library / Resource Centre and Art, Business Studies, Music, Science and Transition curriculum areas. 90 portable devices are also available for students to utilise whilst at school in the Social Science and English curriculum areas.
Hawera High Students can access Microsoft Office products at home through Office365.
Hawera High School has been part of the Ministry of Education School Network Upgrade Project (SNUP). This upgrade has allowed the school to make optimal use of the Government's ultra-fast broadband initiative. We are still developing our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy whereby students can bring an electronic device to school in order to aid their learning.
