Tēnā Koutou e te whanau,

Our High School provides a variety of academic, vocational, cultural and sporting opportunities to our students. We aim to ensure our school is a safe and supportive environment, and one that promotes opportunities to excel in academic pathways with a broad curriculum.

We have specialist programs for those students with special needs (including gifted and talented), transition programs for students entering the workforce and we have internationally renowned sporting coaches on our staff.

Hawera High School sets high standards for our students based on our values of Honesty, Achievement, Well-being, Excellence, Respect and Attitude. These values promote self-reflection and behaviour awareness, of being considerate to others and the environment, and being committed to being lifelong learners.

We are very proud of the success our current and past students achieve in a wide range of subjects and activities. Any such success comes from a community of learning. At Hawera High School, we stress that the partnership between the student, home and school is vital if students are to achieve personal bests, develop into well rounded citizens and to leave school with a range of choices and opportunities.
