SPECIAL NEEDS
The Special Needs Department at Hawera High School is known as the Endeavour Centre. The Endeavour Centre provides an inclusive safe learning environment that caters for ORS funded students, students with learning needs and students requiring extra support. All students in the Endeavour Centre or funded students in the mainstream classes have either an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or a Pathway Plan.
The philosophy of the Endeavour Centre is based on Mason Durie whare tapa wha which encompasses students psychological, physical, spiritual and whanau wellbeing. All staff support and encourage students' to reach their personal potential and become valued members of society.
We provide the following services to students:
