EXCELLENT SPORTING FACILITIES

Sport is an integral part of Hawera High School. We strive to encourage every student of every ability and level to participate in sporting activities. We encourage as many students as possible to take an active part in the sporting activities that are on offer.   We offer a comprehensive sports programme allowing athletes to challenge their limits and strive for success at training and during competition. Participation in school sport allows students to learn how to manage themselves, set goals and work towards achieving them. Sport allows our students to work together, experience the joys of winning and how to be gracious losers. Participation in organised school sport allows our students to feel a sense of belonging.   Hawera High School has excellent sporting facilities. The expansive school grounds include an outdoor swimming pool and we have a cricket wicket, rugby field, football field and a multi-purpose artificial playing turf which includes tennis courts, a hockey training field, netball courts and a 200 metre training track on Bayly Park.

TSB HUB NEIGHBOURS

We are neighbours to the “TSB HUB” which we have access to. This includes a three court basketball stadium, numerous playing fields for rugby, football and cricket and we also back on to the Hawera Aquatic Centre. It would be fair to say we are spoilt with the numerous first class facilities we have available and that we would be the envy of most New Zealand schools.
